Specific Instructions for Common Antivirus Software

Windows Defender (Windows Security) MOST COMMON)

• Open Windows Security: Type "Windows Security" in the Start menu and open the app.
• Navigate to Virus & Threat Protection: Click on "Virus & threat protection."
• Manage Settings: Under "Virus & threat protection settings," click "Manage settings."
• Turn Off Real-Time Protection: Toggle the switch under "Real-time protection" to "Off" ²⁵.

McAfee

• Open McAfee Interface: Click the McAfee icon in the system tray.
• Access Real-Time Scanning: Click the settings gear icon and choose "Real-Time Scanning."
• Turn Off: Click "Turn Off" and confirm the action.

Norton

• Open Norton Interface: Click the Norton icon in the system tray.
